First Blog Post! Why you should visit Hurghada!
Welcome to the first blog post on our new website!
Hurghada was once a sleepy fishing village and it still retains much of its traditional egyptian charm.
It´s spread over a long coastal area but it is split into three distinct areas: the Resorts area – characterised by large beachfront hotels and a new promenade; Sekalla – the newer centre of Hurghada, well - known for its vibrant atmosphere and many shops, nightclubs and restaurants; and Dahar – the old downtown area that boasts a wealth of traditional bazaars and backstreets.
So, why should you visit Hurghada?
Well, it´s just an aprox. five-hour flight from Europe.
Year round sunshine, crystal clear waters, some truly beautiful and spectacular marine life – this is a diving and snorkeling paradise.
The Red Sea is home to one of the world´s 10 largest coral reefs and top three longest, over 2,000 kilometers (~1,240 miles). This reef system is home to over 1.400 endemic species of marine life.
Hurghada is Egypt’s second most popular (but much less crowded than Sharm el-Sheikh) place to scuba dive, rated by CNN as one of the top 50 worldwide..
Hurghada really comes alive at night. It has nightclubs, bars and coffee shops that stay open through the night. Many are situated directly on the beach for a real chill out evening. As well as the local bars and legendary hangouts like Papas Bar.
Leave your hotel and see what Hurghada itself has to offer – beautiful mosques, fascinating museums and plenty of bartering opportunities.
